SPRING SEMESTER 2017
I hope everyone had a great Feb. Break!!
We are beginning our 2nd unit, which focuses on survival, and the ways a human being must survive besides physical survival.
We are reading multiple short stories, beginning with "The Most Dangerous Game" by Richard Connell.
We will begin reading Night by Elie Wiesel and finding examples of different types of survival that the main character Elie must face while in the concentration camp of Auschwitz.
We will also examine other types of genocide around the world to compare/contrast to The Holocaust.

Tuesday/Wednesday:
Tuesday and Wednesday are going to be spent in the media center with two other 9th Lit classes doing a crime scene investigation for Act III, Scene I of Romeo and Juliet. Students will be placed in groups and will have to look at different stations of evidence to determine who killed Mercutio and Tybalt in this scene. The students will have to write a hypothesis and a case file based on evidence found.
